
On May 31, 2025, at around 5:58 PM, a four-story reinforced concrete (RC) building collapsed during manual demolition, killing one person and injuring another.
The incident occurred in Aungmyaytharzan Township, between 25th and 26th Streets on 60th Road. The structure, which had been damaged in a recent earthquake, was being torn down by workers when it suddenly collapsed, trapping labourers under the debris.
Rescue teams from the Aungmyaytharzan Fire Station rushed to the scene to assist in recovery efforts. According to the Myanmar Fire Services Department, one man died in the collapse, while another sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The victims were extracted by 6:20 PM and transported to Mandalay General Hospital by an ambulance from the White Rose Social Assistance Association.
