Facebook and Messenger will no longer automatically convert between Myanmar Unicode and Zawgyi fonts and it would switch to Unicode font starting June 26, Meta announced on June 13.
“Starting June 26, 2025, Facebook will no longer automatically convert Myanmar Unicode and Zawgyi fonts. This means that if someone phone’s language settings are still set to Myanmar Zawgyi and don’t change to Myanmar Unicode, he or she may not be able to read the full content on their Facebook page. The posts may not appear correctly to others. The username may not appear correctly if they use Myanmar Zawgyi,” Meta said in a statement.
Therefore, Meta recommends that users change their phone's language settings to Myanmar Unicode to ensure a smooth and convenient Facebook experience, according to a statement from the company.
